Bible Sunday
Heavenly Father, you have shown through the Bible
the wonder of your love for us in Christ Jesus.
Help us to understand your word with our minds
and apply it in our lives, for his name’s sake. Amen.

PRAYER FOR FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT
Jesus comes to us.
Lord, God, your Son will come again at the end of time,
but now he lives and suffers in today’s people.
Send us in love to those who need our time and our care,
our comfort and our possessions,
that we all may grow to be fully human,
fully like our Lord. Amen.
